“Extract” is never a full glass, and while at times the glass seems more empty than full (and occasionally vice-versa), the end result is a spilled cup. Yet, assuming the glass is filled with water, it isn’t that hard of a mess to clean up.

Together for about four years, the band started out playing Tower of Power covers and then expanded from there. (Tower of Power is a funk band from Oakland, Calif.) Now Manchuka is a 10-piece dance band consisting of a full rhythm section, a full horn section and two lead singers — one male and the other female.

“I sit there with goosebumps watching this guy,” Collins said. “It’s like watching Elvis.”
