MANCHESTER — Currier Museum gives preschoolers an introduction to art during Storytime in the Gallery at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 23.

The event features an art-related story read by a children’s librarian, followed by a gallery talk about the “Artwork of the Day.” On Monday, the book will be “My Best Friend is as Sharp as a Pencil” by Hanoch Piven and the artwork is the “Jerome Liebling: Capturing the Human Spirit” exhibition.

The event is recommended for children ages 3 to 5, but all are welcome free of charge with museum admission.

Older children can visit the Family Summer Studio from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 25, where they can experiment with a variety of art materials and check out the “Artwork of the Day.” Each week will feature a different project related to the monthly theme. Again, the event is free with museum admission.

For more information call 669-6144 ext.108 or visit currier.org.
