MANCHESTER — Due to health concerns currently faced by rock icon Steven Tyler, the Jan. 23 charity event, “Dream On: An Intimate Evening with Steven Tyler,” to benefit Child and Family Services of New Hampshire, has been canceled. No new date for the performance has been set as of press time.

Ticket holders currently are receiving full refunds. Patrons who made their purchases through the Capitol Center for the Arts must return their tickets to the box office at 44 South Main St. in Concord. VIP patrons will be refunded by Child and Family Services. Should the event be rescheduled, tickets and VIP packages will be available to these people at the original prices.

Tyler checked into a rehabilitation center in late December for addiction to painkillers. In a statement made to Rolling Stone magazine, Tyler said he is taking responsibility for his pain and that he’s “eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio” with his bandmates.

Tyler’s daughter, actress Liv Tyler, said, “We love him and are so proud that he is getting help to balance his pain management, not just for himself but for his family, friends and fans.”

Tyler’s engagement with Child and Family Services was intended to support the agency’s work with at-risk youth, specifically, its adolescent substance abuse treatment initiatives.

“CFS understands that addiction is a serious disease and supports Tyler on his road to recovery,” said agency spokesperson Kat Strange.

“The agency wishes the best to Tyler and his family during this difficult time,”  she said.
