Pop Farmers promise ‘big sloppy chords’ at Peddler’s Daughter, Saturday, Oct. 17

NASHUA — Pop Farmers will perform at The Peddler’s Daughter on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 9:30 p.m.
After years of slugging it out in the New England bar scene with many different bands, the four members of the New Hampshire-based The Pop Farmers have finally found what they feel is a winning formula. Combining big chords with cool harmony vocals on power pop covers by artists such at Tom Petty, REM, the Smithereens, the Lemonheads, Warren Zevon and Elvis (both Presley and Costello), a Pop Farmers show has a little bit of everything.
The Pop Farmers are guitarist/keyboardist Al Carey, who performed with the successful alt-country band the Gypsy Mechanics (among others); guitarist/bassist Gary Blaisdell, who has been performing with the Ballou Brothers Band for nearly 20 years; drummer Jim Mahony, another ex-Mechanic who has performed with many artists in the Milford area; and bassist/mandolinist Dan Moran, who says he has played in more bands than he cares to count.
The Pop Farmers combine a two-guitar attack — which can feature big, sloppy chords as well as sweet acoustic twang — with four strong harmony vocals and experienced showmanship to create a set designed to grab audiences in a warm, musical group hug.
Cover charge is $3. The Peddler’s Daughter is located at 48 Main St. in Nashua. For more information call 821-7535 or visit www.thepeddlersdaughter.com.
