SCREEEM, ‘cuz a little scream just won’t do it at Canobie

The fall is here and with Halloween on the way, a few scares and a little fear are in order.

This year fear definitely meets fun at Canobie Lake Park Screeemfest this month.

Canobie Lake Park Screeemfest is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Nov. 1 at the park in Salem, N.H.

If you love to be scared you will not be disappointed with the haunted attractions, creepy games and entertaining live shows.

Stroll through the village where the “former residents” of early Salem met their fate, but never left. Or visit the Dead Shed where the old village butchers still practice their craft, or check in with Mr. Chuckles and the evil employees of Merriment, Incorporated, where they manufacture killer novelties and don’t clown around.

“The haunts we developed are all new this year and will definitely make you scream,” says Chris Nicoli, Canobie Lake Park’s marketing and entertainment manager.

“The costumes and characters are remarkably creepy, which is the whole idea. But what makes us unique from other Halloween attractions is the sheer variety of entertainment we offer,” Nicoli continued.” What better way to catch your breath from the haunted houses than to scream through the air on one of our roller coasters?”

And if you have little kids, there is also plenty for them to do at Screeemfest without scarring —- er, scaring — them too much. The event features kiddie rides and the Pumpkin Palace, an attraction with pumpkin displays, storytelling and costumed characters.

A group of us (Family and friends) went to the Oktober and Scream Fest festivities offered at Canobie Lake Park in Salem, NH on 1/30/10.

WE HAD A BLAST AND INTEND TO GO AGAIN NEXT YR. However, we'll go in September so we can enjoy the warmer air temps. The night was perfect for an overcoat, hat and gloves. We enjoyed the Monster Parade, Magic Show, Prince, Ozzi and the rides! The Haunted Happenings were frightfull. I got to dance the Polka with the Band as the music is so Happy and they played extremely well.

We thank the Administrators for thinking of and putting together such a fine source of family entertainment. The coupons helped save us some money too. The fried dough, kettle corn and German Saugages were all terrific!

When we're trapped in our homes suffering from Cabin Fever this winter, we'll reflect on the fine October time we had in Salem, NH.

Thank you all for a fine performance and we look forward to seeing you in 2011!

    Warmest Regards,

    The Ivers' Family
