Doug Mitchell and his band are scheduled to perform at Stella Blu in Nashua on Friday, Aug. 21.

The band consists of Mitchell on guitar and lead vocals, Steve Organek on bass and vocals, Joe Green on drums and vocals and at some performances, Pete Finkle —  lead guitar and vocals.

As a songwriter and performer, Mitchell delivers music with layers of innuendo. What may seem simple at first becomes deeper and more meaningful upon a second and third listen, he says.

“Whether you’re just listening at the surface or digging deeper into the soul of the music,” he says, “it feels good.”

Mitchell’s music crosses musical boundaries, ranging from rock, to country and folk, and even blending the genres.

In addition to selections from his four original albums, he plays music from a deep library of cover songs.

Mitchell has performed with and opened for many seasoned celebrities including Willie Nelson, Jonathan Edwards, Bonnie Raitt, Foghat, Roseanne Cash, The Outlaws, Sawyer Brown, Stonewall Jackson, Motley Crue and John Prine.
