Get funky with the Boston Horns at Strange Brew, Friday, Aug. 14

The Boston Horns, a 7-piece funk, jazz and soul band led by Garret Savluk and Henley Douglas Jr., takes the stage at the Strange Brew Tavern in Manchester at 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 14.
Savluk and Douglas are the former front men of the Heavy Metal Horns.
Over the course of 20 years, they’ve collaborated and toured with a wide range of artists including Tower of Power, Extreme, Johnny A., Shawn Mullins, Laverne Baker, Susan Tedeschi, and the Del Fuegos, among others.
Their compelling mix of funk, jazz and soul has kept band members busy performing in clubs and festivals in New England, New York, Montreal, San Jose, New Orleans and as far away as Tokyo.
“Shibuya Gumbo,” the latest Boston Horns album, features tracks with Barrence Whitfield on vocals and Sam Kininger on alto sax.
