MANCHESTER — The Grateful Dead tribute band Blue Light Rain takes the stage at The Shaskeen in Manchester on Friday, July 24.
The Concord-based band formed in late July of 2008 by Andy Laliotis (guitar and vocals) and Rob Farquhar (bass and vocals), originally to play just one show on Jerry Garcia’s birthday on Aug. 1. They had such a great time; however, that they decided to book more shows.Original band members played together until December 2008, with two traveling from southern Massachusetts. The long commute in difficult weather prompted them to opt out of the group, so the lineup changed when Shelley Berube (keyboards, vocals) and Tynan Flanagan (drums) joined the band. The Shaskeen is located at 909 Elm St.
