Mr. Nick and the Dirty Tricks coming to Strange Brew
MANCHESTER - Mr. Nick and The Dirty Tricks will perform at Strange Brew Tavern tonight at 9 p.m.
Composed of four respected New England bluesmen, Mr. Nick & The Dirty Tricks have been performing together since 2007.
The band features Nick “Mr. Nick” David on vocals and harmonica, who was the longtime frontman of Mr. Nick’s Blues Mafia and Queen City Kings. “Lonely” Gus Carlson, from Lonely Gus and the One Night Stand, plays guitar and does vocals. Rick Rousseau, formerly of the Movers and Rhumboogie, plays drums and does vocals. And Teddy B., the one-time bass player for The Toni Lynn Washington and KD Bell bands, plays upright and electric bass.
Taking some of their cues from Chicago Blues greats like Howlin’ Wolf and Jimmy Rogers, as well as Jump Blues greats like Wynonie Harris and Louis Jordan, and Soul Blues greats like Bobby Blue Bland and Solomon Burke, this band has a deep blues repertoire.
