CONCORD — The Capitol Center for the Arts School Series will present “Goodnight Moon” and “The Runaway Bunny” on Friday, June 5, at 10 a.m. and again at noon.
The show is produced by Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia, which adds to its repertory of outstanding children’s productions with this innovative double-bill. “Goodnight Moon” is a celebration of familiar nighttime rituals, while “The Runaway Bunny” and its pretend tale of leaving home evokes reassuring responses from his loving mother.
Both tales feature endearing rabbit characters, and the soothing rhythms of bunny banter and dream-like imagery never fail to infuse young readers with a reassuring sense of security and peace. Whimsical puppetry and evocative original music will bring a new sense of appreciation to stories that have delighted several generations.
Tickets are $7 and can be reserved by calling the Capitol Center box office at 603-225-1111. The show is recommended for grades K-2.
